  11.      The first thing you should do is to backup the distribution
  12. diskettes and store the distribution diskettes away in a safe
  13. place.  Use only the copy for all operations.
  14.  
  15. Getting started with the Tutor diskette
  16.  
  17.      Before you can begin the execution of SBW, you must print out
  18. a copy of the Tutor_By_Example (tm) text.  The file named PRINTEXT.BAT
  19. is designed to help you to do this.  Simply type the name PRINTEXT
  20. at the DOS prompt and all of the Tutor_By_Example text will be
  21. printed for you.  When the system displays "Name of list device
  22. [PRN]:", hit the return key to accept the default.  This batch file
  23. uses the DOS command PRINT.COM (from your DOS disk, copy it to the
  24. Tutor_By_Example disk, if space permits) to actually do the printing
  25. and it has an upper limit of 10 files that can be queued up at once.
  26. There is therefore a pause after each group of print requests to allow
  27. the queue to empty out, after which you must hit any key to allow
  28. printing to continue.  If you key these commands in manually, you can
  29. print in the background, and be using your computer to do something
  30. else (provided of course that the something else doesn't require the
  31. printer).

  34. SYSTEM FOR BUSINESS & THE WORKPLACE (SBW)

  37. The disk labeled System for Business & Workplace (SBW) Disk is an integrated
  38. business application system using dBASE III Plus that is described and
  39. documented in the Tutor_By_Example Disk.  The five modules that compose
  40. SBW include:
  41.          -Customer Information Systems
  42.          -Human Resource Management
  43.          -Accounting
  44.          -Inventory Management & Order Processing
  45.          -Production Planning & Operations
  46.  
  47. To run the System, you need to have the dbase disk in drive A or C and in
  48. drive B the project disk.  At the dot prompt of dBASE (.) type:
  49.                 SET DEFAULT TO B:  and press RETURN
  50.                 DO SYSMENU and press RETURN.
  51.
